Welcome to Pinky Promise Painting LLC ("Pinky Promise Painting," "Company," "we," "our," or "us"). We are a locally operated painting company serving homeowners, property owners, and businesses throughout Grand Rapids and the surrounding West Michigan communities.
At Pinky Promise Painting, we believe a better paint job starts with a Pinky Promise. Our mission is to provide professional painting services built on dependable communication, quality workmanship, honest expectations, and a customer experience that homeowners can feel confident about.
We understand that hiring a painting company is an important investment. Whether you are updating a single room, repainting your home's exterior, refinishing kitchen cabinets, or improving a commercial property, our goal is to make the entire experience as straightforward, organized, and stress-free as possible.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") explain how our website, estimates, communications, scheduling, painting services, customer responsibilities, warranties, and related business practices operate.
By accessing our website, requesting an estimate, communicating with our company, or using our services, you acknowledge these Terms to the extent applicable and permitted by law. A request for an estimate does not, by itself, create a binding agreement to purchase painting services.
Individual painting projects are governed by the written estimate and Service Agreement & Terms accepted by the customer. If a provision of a signed project agreement conflicts with these general website Terms, the signed project agreement controls for that project.
2. About Our Company
Pinky Promise Painting LLC is a Michigan limited liability company providing residential and commercial painting services throughout West Michigan.
Our company specializes in helping property owners protect, maintain, and improve their properties through professional painting and staining services.
Our primary services include:
Interior residential painting
Exterior residential painting
Kitchen cabinet painting and refinishing

Fence painting and staining
Commercial painting
Related surface preparation, priming, and finishing services
Our company coordinates customer communication, project estimating, scheduling, and project management. Painting services may be performed by qualified independent painting contractors working on projects coordinated by Pinky Promise Painting.
Our use of independent contractors does not change the identity of the company with which the customer enters into a service agreement or eliminate any responsibility imposed on Pinky Promise Painting by applicable law.
We strive to provide a professional experience from the initial conversation through the final walkthrough, with clear expectations and consistent communication throughout the project.
3. Our Service Areas
Pinky Promise Painting proudly serves Grand Rapids and surrounding communities throughout Kent County, Ottawa County, and nearby West Michigan areas.
Our service locations include, but are not limited to:

Service availability may vary depending on project location, project size, scheduling, seasonal demand, and the type of painting services requested.
We reserve the right to accept or decline projects outside our standard service area, subject to applicable law.
4. Our Painting Services
4.1 Interior Painting
Our interior painting services are designed to improve the appearance of residential and commercial interior spaces while respecting the property and its occupants.
Depending on the approved estimate, interior services may include painting walls, ceilings, baseboards, trim, doors, and other specified surfaces.
Standard preparation may include protecting floors and furniture, filling minor nail holes, addressing small surface imperfections, cleaning appropriate surfaces, sanding glossy areas, caulking minor trim gaps, and applying primer where specified or necessary for the agreed scope.
Extensive drywall repairs, structural repairs, water-damage restoration, wallpaper removal, and other specialty preparation services are not automatically included unless specifically identified in the approved estimate.
4.2 Exterior Painting
Our exterior painting services focus on improving appearance while helping protect exterior surfaces from weather exposure.
Projects may include siding, exterior trim, doors, shutters, soffits, fascia, porches, and other surfaces identified in the written estimate.
Preparation may include surface cleaning, scraping loose or peeling paint, sanding appropriate areas, priming bare wood, caulking suitable cracks or gaps, and protecting nearby surfaces.
Exterior painting is subject to weather, temperature, humidity, moisture levels, and product manufacturer application requirements.
Rotten wood replacement, structural repairs, extensive carpentry, masonry restoration, and other work outside the agreed scope require separate written authorization.
4.3 Cabinet Painting and Refinishing
Cabinet painting and refinishing services may include preparation, cleaning, sanding, priming, and applying appropriate cabinet coatings.
The specific scope depends on the condition of the cabinets, the selected finish, and the written estimate.
Cabinet painting does not automatically include cabinet replacement, hardware replacement, hinge repairs, structural cabinet repairs, or modifications to cabinet construction.
Customers should understand that painted cabinetry requires appropriate curing time and ongoing care. Coating cure times vary depending on the products used and environmental conditions.
4.4 Deck and Fence Painting or Staining
Our deck and fence services may include cleaning, preparation, sanding, painting, staining, and protective finishing, depending on the agreed scope.
Wood condition, age, previous coatings, moisture content, and weather exposure can influence the appearance and durability of the finished product.
Existing deterioration, structural damage, warped boards, wood rot, and naturally occurring wood movement are not corrected through painting or staining alone.
4.5 Commercial Painting
We provide painting services for eligible commercial properties, offices, retail spaces, rental properties, and other business facilities.
Commercial projects may require additional scheduling arrangements, access coordination, safety requirements, or project-specific agreements.
The written estimate and applicable service agreement will identify the agreed commercial project scope.
5. Our Customer Experience and Painting Process
At Pinky Promise Painting, we believe the experience matters just as much as the finished project.
Our process is designed to provide customers with clear communication, realistic expectations, and an organized approach to painting services.
Step 1: Initial Contact and Project Consultation
Customers may contact Pinky Promise Painting through our website, telephone, email, online forms, or other approved communication channels.
During the initial conversation, our team may ask questions regarding:
The type of painting services requested
The property's location
The approximate size of the project
Which surfaces require painting
The current condition of those surfaces
Desired colors or finishes
Preferred project timing
Property access and scheduling considerations
Additional details necessary to evaluate the project
Our goal during this conversation is to understand the customer's needs and determine the appropriate next steps.
Step 2: Scheduling Your Free Estimate
For eligible projects, Pinky Promise Painting offers complimentary painting estimates.
Estimates may be conducted on-site or through another evaluation method approved by our team.
During the estimate, we evaluate relevant project conditions, measurements, preparation requirements, accessibility, and the services requested.
A free estimate does not obligate the customer to purchase painting services.
Step 3: Preparing Your Written Proposal
After evaluating the project, Pinky Promise Painting prepares a written estimate describing the proposed scope of work and associated pricing.
Estimates may include specific rooms, surfaces, preparation tasks, painting services, materials, and additional project details.
Pricing is based on factors such as project size, surface condition, preparation requirements, accessibility, product selection, labor requirements, and project complexity.
Customers are encouraged to review the estimate carefully and request clarification before accepting.
Step 4: Estimate Approval and Service Agreement
Once a customer decides to proceed, the customer must accept the written estimate and applicable Service Agreement & Terms through an approved acceptance method.
Acceptance establishes the agreed project scope, subject to the terms of the accepted agreement.
Any work not specifically included in the accepted estimate is excluded unless separately authorized in writing.
Step 5: Scheduling and Project Preparation
After approval, our team coordinates scheduling based on project requirements, contractor availability, materials, and applicable weather conditions.
Before work begins, customers may receive information about preparation responsibilities, project access, color selections, and anticipated scheduling.
Customers are expected to provide accurate access information and disclose conditions that may affect safe or timely performance.
Step 6: Professional Surface Preparation
Appropriate preparation is an important part of a quality painting project.
Depending on the agreed scope, preparation may include masking, covering, cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming.
Preparation requirements differ depending on the surface material, existing coating, environmental conditions, and selected paint products.
Only preparation included in the accepted estimate or otherwise required under the applicable agreement is included in the project price.
Step 7: Painting and Project Execution
Painting work is performed according to the approved scope and appropriate product application requirements.
Our goal is to achieve consistent coverage, clean lines, appropriate adhesion, and an attractive finished appearance.
Application methods may include brushing, rolling, spraying, or combinations of these methods depending on the project.
The number of coats, specific products, and finish requirements are governed by the accepted project agreement.
Step 8: Project Communication
Throughout the project, Pinky Promise Painting works to maintain clear communication regarding scheduling, progress, and material changes.
Customers should direct project concerns, additional requests, or questions to their designated company contact.
Any additional work requiring a change in pricing or scope must be approved before the additional work is performed.
Step 9: Final Walkthrough and Quality Review
Upon substantial completion, Pinky Promise Painting arranges a final walkthrough or another appropriate completion review.
During this stage, the customer has an opportunity to identify reasonable concerns related to the agreed scope of work.
Any outstanding items determined to fall within the agreed scope will be addressed in accordance with the applicable service agreement.
Our goal is to complete each project with clear expectations, appropriate cleanup, and customer confidence in the completed work.
Step 10: Final Invoice and Continued Support
Following completion, the customer receives a final invoice in accordance with the accepted agreement.
We remain available to address questions regarding the completed project and applicable workmanship warranty.
Our relationship with customers does not end simply because the final coat has dried.
6. Estimates, Pricing, and Project Scope
All estimates are based on information reasonably available at the time of evaluation.
Prices may vary based on project size, surface condition, accessibility, preparation requirements, product selection, and other relevant circumstances.
Unless otherwise specified, estimates cover only the services expressly described in the written proposal.
Additional work, including extensive repairs, concealed damage remediation, or newly requested painting areas, may require a separate written change order.
Verbal discussions, marketing descriptions, website content, and preliminary pricing discussions do not automatically modify an accepted written estimate.
Any discounts or promotional offers are subject to their stated eligibility requirements and must be included in the approved pricing.
We will not perform chargeable additional work without obtaining the customer's authorization in accordance with the applicable agreement.
7. Changes to the Scope of Work
Customers may request changes before or during a project.
Examples include additional rooms, additional coats, changes to paint colors, different products, added trim work, or newly discovered repair needs.
Requested changes may affect pricing, materials, scheduling, and completion timelines.
Changes that affect the agreed scope or price must be documented and approved by both parties before implementation.
Pinky Promise Painting is not required to perform work outside the agreed scope without an approved change order.
8. Customer Responsibilities
Customers play an important role in helping projects proceed safely and efficiently.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, customers are responsible for:
Providing accurate project and contact information.
Providing reasonable access to agreed work areas.
Removing or securing valuables, fragile items, and personal belongings.
Identifying known property defects, moisture problems, or safety hazards.
Securing pets and keeping children away from active work areas.
Providing timely color and finish selections.
Communicating scheduling conflicts promptly.
Obtaining necessary property-owner, association, or building approvals when applicable.
Reviewing the approved estimate and reporting discrepancies before work begins.
Providing access to utilities reasonably necessary for the agreed work, if specified in the project agreement.
Customers should notify our team of any existing damage or unusual property conditions before the project begins.
9. Paint Colors, Products, and Materials
Paint colors, finishes, and product selections should be finalized before the scheduled project start date.
Unless the project agreement specifies otherwise, customers should provide final selections at least seven days before work begins.
Changes made after materials have been ordered or work has started may result in additional costs and scheduling adjustments, subject to written approval.
Color appearance can vary depending on lighting, surrounding materials, surface texture, sheen, and existing conditions.
Digital images, printed samples, and small paint swatches may not precisely represent the appearance of a completed painted surface.
Customers are encouraged to evaluate physical paint samples in the intended environment before approving final selections.
Paint and material specifications will be determined by the accepted estimate and applicable agreement.
10. Scheduling, Delays, and Weather Conditions
We make reasonable efforts to begin and complete projects according to communicated schedules.
However, scheduling and completion dates may be affected by factors including:
Rain, snow, wind, or unsuitable temperatures
Excessive humidity or surface moisture
Manufacturer application and curing requirements
Material availability
Unforeseen surface conditions
Customer-requested changes
Property access restrictions
Safety concerns
Events outside our reasonable control
Estimated start and completion dates are not guaranteed deadlines unless expressly agreed in writing.
If significant scheduling changes become necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate them and coordinate revised arrangements.
11. Surface Conditions and Existing Damage
Painting improves the appearance and protection of suitable surfaces but does not correct all underlying property defects.
Existing structural movement, moisture intrusion, wood deterioration, mold, water damage, failing substrates, or incompatible previous coatings may affect painting results.
Where previously concealed damage is discovered, we will notify the customer when reasonably practicable and discuss appropriate next steps.
Additional repairs or remediation outside the approved scope require separate authorization.
We do not represent ordinary painting services as a substitute for structural repairs, waterproofing, mold remediation, or other specialized property services.
12. Workmanship Standards and Quality Expectations
Pinky Promise Painting strives to provide professional workmanship appropriate to the project, surface conditions, and approved scope.
Our quality expectations include appropriate preparation, reasonable surface protection, consistent coating application, attention to detail, and suitable cleanup.
Painted surfaces may contain minor variations resulting from substrate texture, existing imperfections, lighting conditions, or product characteristics.
The accepted project agreement establishes the specific services and workmanship obligations applicable to each project.
Customers should communicate concerns promptly so that we have an opportunity to evaluate and address them.
13. Three-Year Workmanship Warranty
Pinky Promise Painting offers a three-year workmanship warranty on eligible painting services, subject to the written warranty terms provided with the applicable project agreement.
The warranty is intended to address qualifying defects caused by improper workmanship within the covered period.
Coverage, exclusions, claim procedures, and remedies are determined by the written warranty accompanying the project.
Conditions that may fall outside workmanship coverage include ordinary wear and tear, accidental damage, abuse, structural movement, moisture intrusion, substrate failure, preexisting defects, improper maintenance, or other causes unrelated to our workmanship.
Manufacturer warranties, where applicable, are separate from our workmanship warranty.
To request warranty service, customers should contact Pinky Promise Painting with their project information, a description of the concern, and photographs when available.
We may request an inspection to determine whether the issue qualifies for coverage.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
14. Project Completion, Invoicing, and Payment
Payment amounts, deposit requirements, installment arrangements, due dates, and accepted payment methods are governed by the written estimate and accepted Service Agreement & Terms.
Unless otherwise agreed, final payment becomes due according to the payment provisions in the project agreement.
Customers are responsible for reviewing invoices and promptly communicating any billing concerns.
Additional charges must be supported by the original agreement or an authorized change order.
Late payments, collection costs, or other payment-related remedies apply only to the extent authorized by the project agreement and applicable law.
15. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Customers should notify Pinky Promise Painting as soon as possible if a project must be canceled or rescheduled.
Cancellation terms, refunds, deposits, and any charges for committed materials or services are governed by the accepted project agreement and applicable law.
Rescheduling is subject to contractor availability, project requirements, and seasonal conditions.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requested changes but cannot guarantee the availability of a particular date.
16. Independent Contractors and Project Management
Pinky Promise Painting may engage independent painting contractors to perform some or all on-site services.
Our company coordinates estimating, customer communication, scheduling, and project oversight as applicable to the project.
Customers should direct changes in scope, billing questions, warranty requests, and formal project concerns to Pinky Promise Painting rather than independently negotiating changes with individual workers.
Contractors performing work remain responsible for following applicable safety requirements and the obligations associated with their work.
The use of independent contractors does not waive any legal obligations owed to customers.
17. Property Protection, Cleanup, and Safety
We strive to treat customer properties respectfully throughout the painting process.
Depending on the project, appropriate protective measures may include drop cloths, masking materials, protective coverings, and reasonable precautions around landscaping, fixtures, and furnishings.
Upon completion, project-related materials and debris will be removed in accordance with the agreed scope.
Customers should avoid entering restricted work areas or touching surfaces before recommended drying or curing periods have elapsed.
For older buildings, certain surfaces or coatings may require special evaluation or legally required lead-safe procedures before disturbance. Any required testing, certified work practices, or specialized remediation must be addressed according to applicable law and the agreed scope.
